Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre

The next report of administration reviewed parking and traffic conditions in the River Terrace neighbourhood, following concerns raised by residents and a request from City Council.

Because River Terrace is located near Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre and Lakehead University, the area experiences higher levels of non-resident parking.

Over the years, the city has introduced measures such as two-hour parking restrictions and resident parking permits on several neighborhood streets to help manage demand.

The latest review focused on Sunrise Boulevard and found that the section between Golf Links Road and South Creek Street can safely accommodate two-way traffic while allowing parking on one side of the roadway.
