Thrilling Cities

Larry McMurtry's Walter Benjamin at the Dairy Queen was an excellent set of essays.

Right now I'm reading Thrilling Cities by Ian Fleming, which is a sort of travelogue of cities that a magazine paid him to visit in one year, around the world in one year.

Interesting, very interesting.

It's not about writing, but about, you know, hotels and restaurants and food and surfing and geishas and all kinds of things.

whatever it takes to get you into the rhythm of it.

And when you're done, pick up the next book and start reading immediately.

The next day, I finish Thrilling Cities and I will open up Travels with Charlie the next day and start reading the next day.

Keep the chain going.
