Linda mentioned a home Todd owned in Three Rivers that had previously burned down.

She said Todd had also been in the process of buying a property from his grandmother when that home burned too.

Investigators later spoke with Todd's mother who told them that two of Todd's previous homes had in fact burned down.

The first was in Portage, Michigan and the second was the Three Rivers home Todd had been purchasing from his grandmother when it was destroyed by a fire.

Obviously, that was pretty weird, so insurance investigators continued looking into things, focusing on the evidence inside the house.

Two towels recovered from the washing machine were tested, and both came back positive for gasoline, which stood out because gasoline is not something typically used in a furnace or oil lamps.
