Now, the plan for this operation was allegedly developed by August Hanning and apparently his company System 360.

The company's CEO, Thorsten Mehles, is a former criminal director or chief of police detectives from Hamburg, and he apparently recruited active policemen for this operation.

In talking with the Block family, Hanning seems to have argued that the German court ruling, coupled with the Danish refusal to abide by it, basically was a call by the German courts to take matters into the family's own hands.

He argued that a forceful solution would be the best one, creating a fait accompli in Block's favor.

And the court has amassed more than 900 pages of evidence in the case, which also includes Christina Block's diary entries.

The first failed kidnapping attempt obviously implicated Hanning and his company.

The investigation led Hamburg police to eventually also tap the phones of August Hanning and his CEO Torst Mehle, the former Hamburg criminal police director.

And also, apparently, police went as far as infiltrating an informant into Hanning's company, System 360.
