I can pinpoint it to when I had gone to see Thoroughly Modern Millie at Wright State.

I went with Joe and Becky Heck, the three of us had driven down to go see Melissa Gerhalski in the show because she was Millie.

and it was truly while i wasn't sitting in that audience that i was like okay yep what they're doing up on that stage is what i want to be doing for the rest of my life so that was the aha moment one show can

I did doze off at the Fireside Theater once.

It was Thoroughly Modern Millie.

Wow.

And it was late at night.

It was doing summer stock theater.

What? I did like 50 performances of Thoroughly Modern Millie.

Did anyone else know that he did musical theater? Exactly in one of the two parts you thought it was.

And I did it so long, and I realized by the time I got back to school, I was like, oh, I don't like this enough to want to do this for the rest of my life.

You know, it was traumatizing.

And I remember it was like my junior year, I was playing Millie in Thoroughly Modern Millie.

And my, I remember the director sat us all down.

She's like, hey, Shay, Caleb, I want to add another kiss here.

You're gonna be popular.

You guys know Not Thoroughly Modern Millie? Which has the most upbeat, high-kick energy songs.

I saw that once with Sutton Foster.

I have to say something, though.

Uh-

Thoroughly Modern Millie.

She was a real Broadway legend, though, before that.

She originally rose to fame as Millie in the Broadway production of Thoroughly Modern Millie.

For the past 20 or so years, they appeared to be these two, Sutton and Hugh, acquaintances, both well-known in the Broadway community.

Um, there is a photo of Hugh visiting Sutton all dressed up as Millie backstage in 2003, which was actually posted on Instagram by Sutton herself in 2021, so, like, eight years later.

During press for the show, they consistently praised one another's talent, their professionalism.

In May 2022, he said, I say he, Hugh said, on Late Night with Seth Meyers, "This is a six-time Tony nominee, two-time winner.

I saw her do Thoroughly Modern Millie when you were, like, four years old.

I've watched everything she's done, and it's amazing." Later in the interview, he said, "Sutton is literally the best in the world, and I wouldn't say this if you weren't here or if I wasn't on national television.
