Outside Thorncliffe Park Public School and Fraser Mustard Early Learning Academy on Tuesday morning, hundreds of parents gave their children some last tidbits of advice before letting go of their hands and sending them off to a new academic school year.

Families streamed into the school's shared courtyard from the surrounding apartment buildings as kindergartners and elementary students arrived for another year of classes.

Parents held their young children's hands as they carried backpacks nearly as big as they were.

The first day of school can bring a mix of excitement and anxiety, particularly for children entering a classroom for the first time.

Around the playground, families had plenty of advice to offer.

Thorncliffe Park Public School is the largest elementary school in the Toronto District School Board, with roughly thirteen hundred students in grades one to five.

Yasser Nadish arrived with his two children, Hannah and Adam, and a reminder that whatever happens during the day, they can talk about it at home later.

It was like all the computers are gonna crash, and then, like, nothing happened.

Toronto police said th-they believe the same car was used in three shootings at busy residential complexes early Sunday and Wednesday in East York.

On Wednesday, officers responded to forty-three Thorncliffe Park Drive to reports of gunfire in the area around two thirty AM according to a news release.

On Sunday, officers also responded to similar reports at forty-seven and forty-nine Thorncliffe Park Drive at about four AM.

No injuries were reported at any of the three shootings, police said.

At the scene on Wednesday, investigators said they found evidence of shots fired and a dark-colored sedan fleeing the area.

Well, I mean, clearly needs to be guardrails for, uh, to make sure that the information is stored properly and used properly and if there's judicial au- authorization required.

But I mean, the question really is, do we wanna catch murderers? Do we wanna catch people that shoot synagogues and US consulates? Do we wanna catch people that are using gun-for-hire networks and shooting up, uh, Thorncliffe Park that we just saw-

... over the weekend? If the answer is yes, then we need to evolve our technology, and Hank will know this, running the homicide squad.
