Yeah, you think? Better than Ralph? Ralph? Well, it was good casting, yeah.

Selleck's big break came in 1980, when he was cast as the lead role, Thomas Magnum, in Magnum, P.I.

The producers would not release him for other projects, so he had to pass on the lead role of Indiana Jones in Raiders of the Lost Ark, which meant that the role went to actor Harrison Ford instead.

Now, I, I could see- You think he regrets that? Well, was Raiders a sure thing? Like, did anybody know it was gonna be an action classic at the time? Probably not.

All right.

So, you know, on Magnum P.I., You would hear Thomas Magnum tell you about that little voice inside your head.

Inside, yeah, our heads.

Something.

Oh, yeah.

I always wanted, uh, two Dobermans, Zeus and Apollo, like, uh, Thomas Magnum had.

I like his little sidekick guy, who looked like Mean Gene's brother, kind of.

Oh, yeah.

dude.

He's basically Thomas Magnum.

You know? Yeah.

Got the hat and the stash.

But that means that Hercule Poirot counts, Sherlock Holmes counts.

But, of course, I think the two television legends are Jim Rockford and Thomas Magnum, played by Tom Selleck, who kind of from 1980 to 1988 took over that particular mantle of the great TV private eye.

Interestingly, neither of those two shows are available on streaming.

So what's supposedly the golden age of online entertainment is a complete disaster as far as I'm concerned if you can't watch shows like that.

So number three, of course, the man, the mustache, and the reason your dad still thinks he can pull off a Hawaiian shirt, Tom Selleck.

[laughs] Magnum, P.I. starred, of course, Tom as, Thomas Magnum, a charming, laid-back PI.

And, um, you know, of course he was living in a luxurious beachfront estate.

Of course, Robin's Nest, he lives on that, where, of course, drives Robin's Ferrari, swims in Robin's pool, annoys Robin's butler, Higgins, which may or may not be actually Robin, we're not sure, and you never really know.

This is Laura Bennett, played by Samantha Egger.

She is a psychic, and she thinks that she's seen herself being murdered, and Thomas Magnum is there.

Now she wants to hire him to...

She does not want to be on Higgins' talent show, by the way.

Her name is mentioned.

But we never see her.

I actually think, first off, since Magnum is not in charge of it and probably does not want his picture in the paper, I think she can do whatever she wants with Thomas Magnum, but you've got to write the story straight, and that's where I lose my confidence in the Honolulu...
