Thomas C. Oden

And the solution can only come through Jesus Christ.

Now, one man who Jesus Christ very wonderfully changed, I remember reading his autobiography, was a man called Thomas Oden, O-D-E-N.

And Thomas Oden was a lecturer in theology in the United States in the 20th century.

And he was a slightly naughty man because he leaned to unbelief.

And so he wouldn't make much at all of the cross or the resurrection.

You're an absolute lightweight.

You have no idea that the errors that you're pushing have all been exposed in the early church.

And so Thomas Oden went back to the Christian foundations and he discovered that all the stuff that he was keen on had basically been exposed as faulty.

Right.

You go, you know, you go further back, you obviously have people like Thomas Oden.

We even mentioned him before we jumped on, his, his, uh, paleo-orthodoxy stuff, which led to-

It's just not monolithic.

But to be fair, all those names you mentioned would probably not fit in a category of kind of, let's say, mainstream American Evangelical.

Now, Thomas Oden kind of rides the line maybe-

Yeah

He travels more than Paul does by the end, and he obviously spends time with Peter, writes his gospel, et cetera.

And, and "The African Memory of Mark" by Thomas Oden, it's a great book.

I recommend it to you.

So, and I, I cl- I did a collection of essays for InterVarsity for Tom Oden back in 20- 2002, and I was in a volume that Kathleen Falsani edited in 2013.
