Today, I once again look into my crystal ball to predict the 2027 third base rankings on today's action-packed episode.

It was a disappointing one.

Also just an incredibly poor performance offensively and defensively at third base for David Hamilton.

He was hitless, wasn't able to get a bunt down.

He had a couple of errors in this one, and really by my count, his errors led directly to at least six, if not more, Cincinnati runs.

I mean, to have that much of a negative effect.

Now, the way the pitching staff went in this one, it really wouldn't have mattered if you played a good game defensively, but it certainly didn't help.

When you have a guy like Andrew Fisher in the minor leagues hitting 46 homers, it makes Burr's fans scratch their heads on why we're putting this mediocre play at third base in games that are so important.

Um, so we were talking a little bit about the future of center field and we touched on the edges of third base, but I want to talk just a little more about, uh, Jesus Baez and Danielle Ortiz.

Uh, we know, Hey, in fact, I think it was JJ Cooper, a baseball American, a recent chat, uh, was kind of negative about Baez, not only because of his aggressiveness, uh, and his low strikeout rate, but they, he cited his on base percentage, which is in the three 15 ish area.

I will say this, T-Bone.

I do think you've noticed an improvement defensively at third base since he's made his return.

Now, that doesn't mean he's great over there, but he's better than what Blaise Jordan was.

There's no doubt about that in my mind.

If he does go on a tear, it's possible I could change my opinion on this matter.

But for right now, given what we've seen, he certainly has not done that.

Third base options this offseason when it comes to free agency are limited.

Okay.

The battery means the pitcher and catcher.

The infield includes first, second, and third baseman and the shortstop.

And the outfield is composed of the left, center, and right fielders.

As for the theory of the game, remember that there are opposing sides, each of which has nine turns at the bat, i.e. nine innings, and the object of each inning is to score as many runs as possible.

With a runner on first and one on third, the man on first will usually try to steal second, and if the ball is thrown there to catch him, the runner on third tries to score.

In this situation, Clarkson makes the slight forward movement of the body as though about to pitch, and the runner on third being anxious to get all possible ground, moves forward.

With the same motion, and before the runner can recover, Clarkson, by a prior understanding with the third baseman, throws to the base.

The baseman meets the ball there, and before the runner has quite realized what has happened, he is out.

I, I do think the roster's thin, and I think we all kind of knew that going in, but I thought it'd be a little bit better at this point of the year.

Um, yeah, speaking about the third base production, I'm really bummed for Blaze Jordan because all indications are he's gonna be on the injured list.
