And today we're closing our October series, Theology in a Confused World.

Throughout this month, we've been asking what it means to remain grounded in biblical truth when the world around us is confused about truth itself.

We talked about why the Word of God determines what is true, why Christians do not need a new word from God, why ordinary Christians can understand the Bible, why our feelings must submit to the Word of God, how Christians should think wisely about artificial intelligence, how theological error can sound almost biblical, and how we can answer hard questions without losing the person in front of us.

I want them to strengthen your confidence in the Word of God.

I want you to think biblically, recognize the worldview pressures around you, love Christ more deeply, stand firmly without becoming harsh, and live faithfully in your local church.

Theology matters because truth matters.

Truth matters because God is true, and God has not left us guessing.

And I have another story.

My associate Bruce and I, for years, we were part of a group called TACT, T-A-C-T, Theological and Cultural Thinkers.

It was an amazing time.

And so we were doing a class one day, an open class.

I can't remember what it was.

Yeah, it's Theological Thursday.

It's Theological Thursday.

We're going to talk about faith issues, some things about faith, sometimes faith in politics.

Whatever the bots come up with this morning to talk about, we'll let the bots kind of Steer some of the conversation.

But, uh, but, um, I think that being on a road of kind of self-awareness, I think, is sometimes a very difficult thing sometimes.

It can be, you know, if you're really honest with yourself about who you are and your issues, I think sometimes it's kind of a, main thing there.

But folks, being Theological Thursday, I've tried to keep it kind of light, but there's some things happening in our nation, just some things happening in our country that I think we need to be fully aware of and basically hopefully be very much more just on our knees about within our nation.

That is the threshold crossing there.

What's so fascinating about this first 10 years is that it's almost entirely in the eye of the beholder as to what's positive or what's a threat, because this is a period of tremendous, obviously, growth for the young restless reformed, the birth of TGC, a lot of stirrings of evangelical renewal, and yet it is an extremely negative decade when it comes to opposition both politically and apologetically for the church you see their beginning that's um jean robinson's or a consecration as episcopal bishop that's the beginning of course of everything that would follow with the anglican church in north america and whatnot that's the first division that you then see carry through all of the other denominations there it's Much more explicit in the foundation documents, the Theological Vision for Ministry actually starts with a discussion about epistemology that's related to a lot of discussions about postmodernism at that time.

Of course, you see here the Great Recession coming in.
