Theo Ellington

We've got in District 10 supervisor race.

We had three candidates running and then $500,000, single $500,000 donation to Theo Ellington.

What do we make of that kind of a donation just dropping into a supervisor race? Oh, it

feels like spiking the football.

Now, obviously, uh, in first place here, Manny Ucutil dropped out of the race this week.

Um, so you can see right below him, it's, uh, Theo Ellington who has amassed the most money.

Um, this is both outside PACs and what the candidates have fundraised and what the city provides in matching funds, which Patrick will talk about later.

Um, but here for Theo, I think you can see that, uh, you know, a lot of this was driven by a single, uh, five hundred thousand dollar donation by someone that we will talk about a little bit later, Chris Larsen, who is a cryptocurrency executive and billionaire.

District 10, which is the southeast side of the city, including Visitation Valley, Bayview, Hunters Point.

This is D.J. Brookter and J.R. Epler, and then we have Theo Ellington.

And so this one was really affected recently by something that I'll talk about, which is money.

But just so you know his background, D.J. Brookter is executive director at Young Community Developers that provides education, training, career development, and housing services primarily in Bayview, Hunters Point.

So his priorities for D10 include housing, safe streets, and job opportunities.

And he's endorsed by some supervisors, Connie Chan and Amirah Melgar, as well as the current D10 supervisor, Shimon Walton, plus many of the city's progressive leaders and former police chief Bill Scott and the mayor, Willie Brown.

Theo Ellington is a third generation San Franciscan.

He's the executive director of the Ruth Williams Bayview Opera House, which is a beautiful place, and former director of public affairs for the Golden State Warriors.
