So I suppose human trafficking is a very serious offence in Ireland.

It's recognised in that the offence itself carries a sentence of life imprisonment.

So there's a legal classification of human trafficking which involves a combination of three elements.

And I suppose it's important to understand that these three elements apply to just adults.

And I suppose we're getting quite technical early in this because human trafficking is, I suppose, of its nature quite technical.

So it involves an act of recruiting, transporting, transferring, harbouring or receiving persons.
