Theatre studies

They had two tracks for us, 15 and 15.

One was called Acting Track, one was called Theater Studies.

Theater Studies, they both learned acting, but if you did Theater Studies, that meant you had another option to specialize in something, playwriting, stage management, scene design, or directing.

I chose directing.

So by my senior year, I did an August Wilson play.

I got started working in wine 25 years ago back in the UK.

I had just finished an English and Theatre Studies degree at Leeds University and I needed a job.

And after I spent a few months working in the theatre at the university itself, figuring out if I wanted to have that as a career, realising that I didn't, I basically just applied for a job at a wine shop.

Knowing you're in the right career, it's a tricky one because I still don't feel like I'm in the right career per se.
