The Womack Sisters

If anything, it might just come and go like every other episode, but you know what? Every episode is a special episode anyway, right? Right.

I started things off this week with something brand spanking new from the Womack sisters.

This was just released and I picked it up on Daptone records and It's called If I Let You, and it just shows what an exciting and cool act the Womack sisters are.

Kucha, Zamani, and BG Womack.

And they grew up on the road.

I mean, I've played it a couple of times on here myself, but for some reason on that Friday night in the little room, all dark, nice sound system, it sounded really good.

Daptone Records, this is the new single from the Womack Sisters and the track called It If I Let Ya.

Your I-L-O-M-O-V-E-U Ain't quite agreeing

with your devilish eyes I ain't saying you blew it I'm just

Come on.

Are you gonna hold?

Womack Sisters, If I Led Ya.

There's just something about that moment in time.

I hope you tipped them well.

Please welcome Zamani, Kucha, and BG, otherwise known as the Womack Sisters.

Ladies, thank you very much for coming here.

Thank you for

Oh, yes.

Yes.

All right, at what point are you leaving the family business and finding your own steps? Like, at what point is it like, is it like, I'm going to go solo, I'm going to go solo, I'm going to go solo, or we should be a duo, we should be a trio? Where's the genesis of the Womack sisters?

I think it was coming to the States.

That was Lady Daisy.

Before that, the Womack Sisters.

And here, Jimmy Smith.

My little DJ edit of Give Up The Booty.

Yeah, not just music, but good music.

Hey, Luke, have you heard the Womack Sisters?

Yes, I have.

They're phenomenal.

best song ever? My best song ever? Actually, I think it pairs very nicely with that song you just had.

This is a group called the Womack Sisters.

The last name Womack might sound familiar.

They are the nieces of Bobby Womack, the soul singer, and they're the granddaughters of Sam Cooke.

This is a trio of singers that sing so great.

And the production is awesome.

And this is If I Let You by the Womack Sisters.

Yeah, I don't always love throwback stuff that's not supposed to sound like that.

We played a little, some more Canadian.

We heard Jack Soul, Still Believe in Love, taking us back, and then we heard the Womack Sisters with You Went Away Too Long.

And we don't have too much longer left of the show, 20 minutes away.

Mm-hmm.

Next couple 2026 releases.

The Womack Sisters incoming.

Need to see them whenever they come to the UK.

Love their sound.

... and I'm working on the 2030 edition already.

But things like Jalen Nagonda and, uh, the Womack Sisters, um, future collectibles, hopefully.

Have you heard that Womack Sisters album?

I haven't heard.

Is it good?

I'm Kaleo.

Today my guests are the Womack Sisters, BG, Zemayi, and Kucha.

The latest line in a legendary music-making family tree.

Their parents are Cecil and Linda, AKA Womack & Womack.

At one point, while trying to keep their musical ambitions alive, they'd each joined the rideshare economy, driving for Lyft and Uber.

It paid some bills and also provided the inspiration for their single Chauffeur.

Coming up, the Womack Sisters talk about their long-awaited self-titled debut album, plus life growing up with musical royalty.

Our conversation in just a moment, but first, check this out.
