The Walking Dead

Awful.

There are some, I mean, there's also like The Walking Dead, the Telltale games that did really well.

That's true.

Have you played those?

But there are a lot of games that do things quite differently to what they're adapting.

I feel like The Walking Dead Telltale is quite a little bit different from what you might expect a Walking Dead game to be like.

There's lots of games that are zombies, loads of games that have zombies in it, but this one just kind of changes it a little bit from what you'd expect, I think.

I thought that when we first discussed this topic, it's the first game that sprang to mind for me is that a really clever way to explore that universe, to root it in some in really strong characters and to give players the freedom.

the freedom almost to sort of navigate, uh, these challenges that are put in front of meeting other people.

Can you trust them? Uh, you know, can they help you, um, having to make difficult decisions? Who do you save? It just, there's so many questions that are put in front of you in that universe.

Uh, it's such, it's just a brilliantly unique way to experience the walking dead universe.

And Lee was a really, a great character.

I'll wait for Square Enix to announce it officially.

The above list is only scratching the surface, however, as users have been browsing through the list, which contains many very early games which are only represented by Steam app ID numbers for now, and have incomplete achievements, and fighting games that have not been announced yet, including a port of Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright, an Animal Crossing-style Nickelodeon game, a new Tetris game, and a new collection of Telltale's The Walking Dead.

Another game simply contains two achievements for now, one of which says this is a test achievement, and the other saying, welcome to Twin Peaks.

I think it is a real shame, especially the Telltale Walking Dead stuff.

That's a real shame because that was obviously supposed to be kept on wraps because the Walking Dead games are absolutely out of the sport.

Um, genre-wise, this one's pretty easy to summarize.

This is a cinematic adventure, which is a descendant from the point-and-click, um, with kind of the evolutionary turning point at Telltale's The Walking Dead.

Telltale had been working in a few more conventional point-and-click adventure games like The Tales of Monkey Island and the, the wonderful Sam & Max games that they published as well.

Uh, that started to become a little bit more cinematic and a l- stray a little bit farther from the conventions of the point-and-click.

But, um, the, the real turning point was The Walking Dead, and then ever since then, the cin- cinematic adventure has kind of been known as, like, Telltale's house style and all of the, um- All of the, the games and series that have been inspired by, um, by that style.

well so right like the walking dead season one one of the the best written stories i think we've experienced sort of like because of how immersively it does it even though it's like it's not a well-written story but it like you mean the telltale
