The Void

We, we had arguments about this all the time.

But The Void from 2016-

Ooh

... from the-

Okay.

In The Void, 2016.

One of my favorites.

Okay.

stone.

Strange creatures start appearing.

I want to review that so bad and I promise we will do that because it's one of my favorite movies, The Void.

It's so good.

yeah it was like after that we really decided like oh we should just all make our stuff together like clearly nobody else out there is doing what we're doing and we all complement each other nicely it's like we're at simultaneously at odds and complementing each other in interesting ways so let's just keep this going and so that led to a few straight years of just us constantly shooting short films which then led to us making features uh like man board father's day Matt and Adam made the editor.

Jared and I did The Void, even though it's not an Astron 6 movie.

It's like, you know, it's like the spirit is alive in all of these things because, you know, we all still keep in touch and things.

And so...

So

yeah.

Yeah, speaking of The Void, I've got my copy right here.

This is one of my favourites from 2016 when this came out.

Yeah.

So I wrote that Aaron Poole is the star of The Void.

That was a movie I produced like a decade ago.

And I was doing a new draft of a taco at the time.

And when it didn't work, I'd take, like, five months off and start all over again.

We'd do another rewrite.

Anyway, I was working with Aaron, and it was in between setups on The Void, and I went to him.

I'm like, I'm creating this character, but I kind of want him to, like, go crazy.

our best.

Well, tonight, I guess you can say there might be some zombie-like creatures in this movie, but we are reviewing the 2016 film by Stephen Kostansky called The Void, which was, in my opinion, a fun little Lovecraftian-style horror film that really touches on all those fears.

But again, Jody's not here tonight.

Usually he does these just... wonderful synopsis of the movie, which I am not good at synopsizing a movie.

He's standing in front of this triangle, which is like the portal to the other dimension or the other worlds.

And then Daniel kind of gives him a little double leg takedown.

into the void, the triangle void, and then you see him and Allison standing there looking at this giant monolithic structure, which I will have to say right now, because you watched this movie with me, not this movie, but a movie this plays homage to, you watched with me, The Beyond.

and the last scene of this movie is literally the last shot of the beyond yes and i love it so much from the way the camera pans around and everything like that uh so if you guys ever seen that movie there's a lot of that in this too but um i'll spare you guys all the details we'll get into more as we talk about it but uh lilith uh tell me what did you think of the void and before you get into it was this the first time watch for you

[laughs]

Today's movie was The Void.

It's from 2017, I believe.

Man, I should get my facts straight.

[laughs]

... after all this trauma.

But Georgie, The Void, what was your overall rating?

I'm gonna give it a three.
