So, okay, I've talked about The Trooper before.

Yeah.

Man, The Trooper is deep into that album.

Yeah, it's

like opening track on side two.

I mean, yeah, Trooper would have been quicker and to the point, you know, but.

But I mean, I think Where Eagles Dare is, I mean, if you really think about it, I mean, what other songs on that album would be a good opener for either side of the album besides those two? um i mean you wouldn't do revelations you wouldn't do flight of icarus you wouldn't do uh i mean die with your boots on has the the right vibe you know that

And this is the detail I can't get past.

He couldn't play the drum fill at the start of The Trooper, one of the most recognizable drum parts in the history of this music, a song he'd played thousands of times.

So he quietly rewrote it, got through the set, and told nobody.

Bruce Dickinson's version of that spring, he couldn't hold a fork.

It's a guy in stilts and everything with different outfits.

And then I popped a huge one right before the Trooper, Bruce leaves, and they're playing a solo.

And then he comes back out and the Trooper starts kicking in, and he has the coat and he's waving the flag.

I'm like, "I got the Trooper outfit on." So yeah, Iron Maiden, always a good stage show.

Uh, and then their sound is really good.

'Cause you know how sometimes you go to see a band and the guitars are too low or the bass is too high, drums too high, something like that.

I'd have to say The Trooper.

My favorite Maiden song is "The Trooper," but live it's just "Fear of the Dark." So what they did is, uh, they had Bruce Dickinson in the video wall being chased by this ghost, and he's going up all these steps.

It looked like a Castlevania game.

And the ghost put him on a noose, and then all of a sudden Bruce turns into, like, an angel, and then he flies away off-screen.

Gotta listen to my physical media, hashtag physical media, and then they never actually listen to it, which I'd also believe happens because...

When the Trooper tape, and it's funny, the Trooper, sorry, not the Trooper, Peace of Mind tape was in Stranger Things.

Suddenly that tape skyrocketed up to like 50 bucks on eBay because everybody just wanted it so they could post

their picture holding the Trooper tape, you know? And here's me walking over going, I've owned this thing for 30 years on cassette.

I haven't owned it.

It's sitting over there.

We're not a greatest hits band, and they never will be.

So, yes, there are half a dozen songs.

You know, it's just very dry.

But here, you know, stuff like Die With Your Boots On, The Trooper, Power Slave...
