The Trial

And for a movie that I don't think cost too much, I think they do a really gr- great job of convincing you of the world.

It kind of also reminds me of, um, the adaptation of The Trial that we watched, Orson Welles' The Trial, where i- doing a lot with a little to really make you buy into this vision of the world.

But, uh, yeah, I can't see anyone watching this and coming away as, like, a huge fan who wasn't already a huge fan.

It's not Lord of the Rings.

Yeah, I had two movies that came to mind when watching this one.

The first one being The Trial by Orson Welles.

And that's sort of because I feel this movie being sort of against oppression and authoritarian states and so on.

And his film from the Kafka novel is sort of one of the good examples of this.

He said, "I was under the spell of Kafka.

I was obsessed with Orson Welles' The Trial.

Uh, also things like David Mamet plays, which are, like, set in one night or whatever."

Mm-hmm.

Don Snorleone.

What I called about was you talked earlier this week about Franz Kafka's The Trial.

Well, I got the chance to watch the 1962 version of it that Orson Welles produced and directed at the time.

He said it was the best movie ever made.
