The Three Tenors

Let's jump to track eight.

This is, I guess, the three tenors, but Pavarotti, and this is from Puccini's Turandot opera, I think, Nesson Dorma.

Yeah, wow.

And it was popularized during the World Cup in 1990.

Like, Ann Wilson has had herself, you know, if we're going rock women, like, she could sing.

That's the same as John Berg.

That's the same as, what is it, The Three Tenors.

And that's the same as Oasis, what is it? Yeah, yeah.

So we won't be talking about traditional music.

How much does it cost to hear The Three Tenors sing? Uh, 30 bucks.

And this idea we see in the Scriptures, and we're sort of been sort of shadowing this in the background of this series, is that this flows from God Himself.

Last week, I ended my sermon with the image from, uh, a, a performance by The Three Tenors, uh, in 1990 in Rome.

I did hear that lots of people went home and were playing opera, uh, at home, that song.

And at the end of this incredible performance by these three tenors, there's this standing ovation, and you see the audience join into this triumphant song as the singing, the interplaying between the three tenors then involves everyone else.

And so it is with being a human.

The life of the Trinity itself expands the love of the Trinity out into creation, and it has this environment where that happens, time, space, bodies, relationships.

They did a great show when they came out to Australia.

The three tenors sold out the MCG.

One of the worst things I've ever seen.

Yeah.

Well, we're sitting there in the stands at the MCG.

The three tenors are out in the middle of the field, the forward line or something, and it could have been three fat little penguins on a stage.

We couldn't see.

But with João Pedro, summer off, fueled by the fact that Ancelotti, "How the hell did you miss me? How did you not pick me?"

He was watching the Three Tenors.

Bit of, bit of, uh, vengefulness.

Just signed a new deal, good deal, and it's, it, mate, he's just scintillating at the moment, and he's kind of found his-

Just a whole mixture.

And then the night before, we had the Three Tenors concert, and again, star-packed audience from Tom Cruise to Frank Sinatra, Bob Hope, and President Bush, and on and on.

So we just made a huge event.

So the secret there was make it a big event to make it successful.
