And I go to museums and some of you have seen The Thinker.

Have you seen this one? The thinker.

And the sculptor put him under because this is somebody who is living in their head, thinking, thinking, thinking.

They're imprisoned by their thinking and they haven't actually gone out to do the thing they're thinking about.

It's a copy of one of Rodin's greatest works,

The Thinker.

I believe I've seen pictures of that.

Isn't that the one that shows a man with no shirt on, sitting with his fist under his chin, watching television?

Well, it isn't quite that modern, Mrs. Davis.

Rodin completed the thinker before Pinky Lee was even invented.

Anyhow, I called the art gallery for Mr. Conklin yesterday and ordered the statue.

whole area of art she's never really understood and we see her loving Rodin's The Thinker and Aboriginal artworks and it's a beautiful description of all of these a quote burning curiosity about art but has to focus on studying science You know, poor Navy, she has the usual homework, then two hours each night of exam prep.

As usual this morning, I tantalized you with a question, and it was all about the thinker.

I said that that famous statue, which is displayed in the Rodin Museum in Paris, although there are other copies, as we will discuss.

Anyway, it's made of bronze, which is an alloy of copper and tin.

And what I wanted to know what that metal is, why it cannot be seen, and why is it there? And therein lies an interesting story which we will now proceed to explore.

The metal is lead, and a block of it sits inside the hollow statue right at the bottom.

Why? It is to prevent the thinker who is leaning forward from tipping over.

That famous statue has a fascinating history, and it begins with the artist Rodin being commissioned in 1880 by the French government to create the bronze doors for a museum that unfortunately was never built.

One of the, uh, great, uh, d- I don't know, you'd call this a meme, I guess.

They're removing the Thinker, you know, where he's sitting down, he's got his-
