It is fun to reflect on it.

I think you did a beautiful job of summing up John Chaney, a guy that's not easily summed up in... couple minutes like you said he's complex he's all these different things and you absorb a lot from him and having been around him and i remember like my intersection with john cheney was yeah i grew up from the time i was 10 out in downingtown out in the suburbs of philadelphia and uh i transferred to temple as a sophomore and i watched philadelphia college basketball and admired the hell out of him and had wanted to be a sports writer for a long time and i thought okay when i get to temple i want to work for the temple news and it's a trip because now i'm i work at temple full-time i'm the managing director of student media there i advise the paper never thought i'd get into working in higher ed and so i do that and still cover temple football and basketball separate from my full-time job for al scoop but looking back at the the mid to late 90s i thought i'm hopefully going to be covering this man and his career and i wonder what it's going to be like am i going to be intimidated by him am i going to be nervous and you're always you know nervous when you're younger and And I transferred into temple my sophomore year and kind of got, just got my feet wet.
