The Super Bowl Shuffle

[laughs]

But the thing Mike Ditka is best known for, of course, is coaching the 1985 Super Bowl Shuffle Bears, and now that team is gonna be the focus of a limited series.

They're gonna base it off a book, Monsters: The 1985 Chicago Bears and the Wild Heart of Football.

All right.

That's what you could make out.

Walter Payton, Refrigerator Perry, Jim McMahon, Mike Singletary, and Mike Ditka.

If your football team is gonna make a video and sing a song called The Super Bowl Shuffle, you have to back that up on the field, and they actually did.

[laughs] 'Cause that video's embarrassing.

[laughs] Yeah, he was never one to shy away from a late night.

[laughs] Hey, Jim, like, if, the days when you wore the Rozelle on your headband, you know, a- and things, you know, all that went with that, I mean, and the say the Super Bowl shuffle, the video, what was his, what was Mike Ditka's, did he have any say at that? I mean, did he have a com- comment about it one way or another? Because all that stuff was so entertaining for anybody in the football world to see what you, you were doing, what your team was doing, but that, uh, the Rozelle thing on the headband stuff, I, I kind of just love that, that whole story that goes with it.

Yeah, I mean, he, he kind of laughed at it, too, when he saw, when I finally took my helmet off and he saw what I had on there.

But th- you're gonna hear him in this, too.

So Bears did the Super Bowl Shuffle, everybody knows that.

Um, last week, I think it was last week, maybe the week before, in that same vein, in that same era, the Rams played the, um, sexually suggestive Ram It.

Gotta ram it, you see.

[laughs] It's terrible.

I mean, it's just terrible.

Like, nobody said, nobody stepped up and goes, "Guys, Ram It? Really? Is that what we're doing?" Anyway, the Bears had the Super Bowl Shuffle.

That's pretty ballsy.
