So...

So we made it just, Al Ford was the general manager, we made it just in time for the midnight flight out of Shreveport, and we had stopped a couple times for, what is it, Red Devil? Is that an old wine that Bobby Jurison bought for, we were riding in a cab on the way there? I remember Jurison saying to me, you know, Davis, you're not such a bad guy after all, he said, because as we're drinking on the way to the, there's the airport, are we going to make it? I know that the radio guys and Doug McConaughey from the Star Phoenix and I, if we hadn't had Bobby Jurison and offensive lineman Scott Hendrickson with us, they wouldn't have waited for us.

We would have been stuck in Shreveport, so it's a good thing the players were still there.

And I thought we were going to die waiting there in the dark for a ride out of the place.

Okay.

Right? I worked in Saskatoon for a year for the Saskatoon Star Phoenix.

Yes.

I loved Saskatoon.

I had an interview with Jeremy O'Day.

We'll publish it in Saturday's Leader Post and Star Phoenix.

And I asked him, are you guys on an upswing now with two full houses, right? They're selling out again for Labor Day, obviously.

And you're on a bit of, you know, you've kicked that other one.

And since our last update, he's also now facing two separate trials.

When I first researched this case and went through the news archives, I found multiple mentions of Ken Schultz in the Saskatoon StarPhoenix newspaper in the late '80s and '90s.

In one letter to the editor, he complained about the increase in gay rights, calling it the ultimate immorality.

In response to public criticism of the running of the church school, then known as Christian Center Academy, which became Legacy Christian Academy, then Valor Academy, Schultz essentially argued that the public does not have a right to criticize how private schools are run given they received no government funding.

Prince Philip was in the newspaper all the time.

There was a kid in our school whose dad worked for the Star Phoenix.

And it was like every other

month

I can see that.

Uh, yeah.

So this kid got taken out in handcuffs and I believe that was, you better believe that was probably in the Star Phoenix and nothing ever really became of it, but it was like a big thing.

Cause we all watched as this kid.
