Yeah.

And even, even when I directed the first hour of The Stand, you know, Owen Teague had a set that's in his bedroom where he's typing and there's books everywhere and, you know, we're strategic with the books that we put places.

Yeah.

When I say we, um, I work often with my best friend Nate, who I've known since the day I was born.

Our moms are best friends.

And so he wrote New Mutants with me and he wrote episodes of The Stand.

He directed a, a movie called Cardboard Boxer and he wrote one that Halle Berry starred in called Kidnap.

Oh, my God.

One of the great TV movies ever.

Because the people, I was making a movie at the time, and they said, oh, hell no.

I was like, you don't understand.

It's The Stand.

Yeah, he was killer.

That guy, Owen Teague, he's in a lot of stuff, but he was in the new miniseries of The Stand that came out in 2019, and then there was literally a pandemic.

He comes off as very creepy.

I don't know if he's like that in real life.

He's like that in the stand.

So he's been cast-typed.

But I don't think I've ever seen her.

If you change the timeline, you aren't just giving the audience a fresh perspective, you are completely gutting the intended emotional impact.

Which brings us right to Stephen King as the stand, specifically the 2020 adaptation that hit streaming.

Oh, boy.

Yeah.

Mm.

But what happens when you take something designed to be short and finite, and you try to stretch it into infinity? Let's talk about another Stephen King adaptation, Under the Dome, which CBS ran from 2013 to 2015.

This is a perfect contrast to The Stand.

King's 2009 novel is a nasty, tightly wound parable.

We said about one day covering a bunch of the shorts, like Night Swim for The Stand is also made into a short film.
