Yeah, that's fulfillment in a different way.
M
10:51Mark KerrGUEST
It's not fulfillment like I get when I have a conversation with somebody and I connect with somebody or they share something with me because they saw the smashing machine and saw the struggles I went through and opens that door.
M
11:05Mark KerrGUEST
You know, it's that, it's that, it's that because that's, that's the human part that, that everybody's like, not everybody, but a lot of people miss is what we were talking about.
M
11:15Mark KerrGUEST

C
51:31ChrisHOST
It's good, but nothing like this.
C
51:47ChrisHOST
But yeah, I mean, I think it was a bit mean of everyone kind of coming in afterwards and saying, you know, you can see who the real talent is here.
C
51:54ChrisHOST
Like, maybe not.
C
51:55ChrisHOST
you know there's clearly some part in the smashing machine that shows real real talent as well it's a good film and you know who knows then maybe the next films made by these two brothers it's gonna be uh the other way around which in terms of which film is better but but yeah let's see
A
52:10ArthurPANELIST
i kind of agree with you on that with how i took away uh my takeaway on this film because it did kind of contain that usual safety magic to uh some extent at least I will have to say this is probably the weakest of the three performances in these films, but still, it was easily one of the best of the year.

J

And I don't really see that this year.
S
24:29Savannah WalshGUEST
Yeah, I think even the ones that sort of blur together and you could accuse of being watered down, like, no tea, no shade, but The Smashing Machine or, like, Iron Claw.
S
24:39Savannah WalshGUEST
I remember, like, some of those, like, biopic films sort of did start to blur together in, like, the awards conversation and have a similar... feel to them.
S
24:47Savannah WalshGUEST
But even when you look at those films, there's really incredible, like Zac Efron, which is kind of doing this adult performance, which is at the core of their brand.
S
24:55Savannah WalshGUEST
And The Smashing Machine, I mean, seeing Dwayne Johnson sort of venture into this new part of his career, there's interesting things, even in the ones that feel sort of

inconsequential.
