And that was an incredible, incredible live show.

And I'm a bit sad that I missed out on tickets this year because Nina Jirachi is opening.

I, I feel like when The Slow Rush, their, their previous album came out, and, you know, he's talking about wanting to be the next Max Martin or whatever.

And it wasn't really happening in that way.

But now that we have that wonderful setup, what album are we talking about?

Today, we're talking about Tame Impala's The Slow Rush.

Indeed, the Slow Rush.

It's an excellent

choice.

that that's my point like it's so so strange but so this album slow rush released on february 14 2020 right before the world shut down uh on the top 10 of many record charts around the world debuted atop the charts in three countries on the u.s alternative and rock charts at the 2020 aria music awards the album won five categories album of the year best group breast brock album engineer of the year producer of the year Also received a nomination for Best Alternative Album at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards, while Lost in Yesterday was nominated for Best Rock Song.

Billboard Top 200, The Slow Rush debuted at number three, moving 110,000 equivalent albums, became Tame Impala's highest charting album in the country to date.

By the time his Grammy-nominated second album Lonerism appeared in 2012, Tame Impala had become a huge critical and commercial success.

While releasing the albums Currents in 2015 and The Slow Rush in 2020, Kevin has also shared his talents as a performer and as a producer with artists including Justice, Gorillaz, Thundercat, and Dua Lipa.

The fifth Tame Impala album, Dead Beat, arrived in October 2025 with the singles Dracula and Loser becoming worldwide hits.

Today, I'm at home in Morden South London, and I'm joined by Kevin from his LA studio.

So I tried to make that the basis of a lot of the tracks on this album, just as a way to give it this, um, sonic personality.

The album before this one was, was The Slow Rush, and that was me really sort of, um, capitalizing on having lots of different ways of making drumbeats, you know? Which, which there are these days.

There are infinite ways to have drums sound, whether they're real drums or sequenced drums or whatever.
