And he and his colleagues developed something called the School Refusal Assessment Scale, which is basically like a checklist or a Likert scale that you would administer to a parent.

And just kind of steps the respondent through a series of questions designed to figure out what are the sources of reinforcement that are leading to these behavioral patterns of refusal? What are the inadvertent rewards that someone's accessing when they don't go to school? And it could be a variety of things.
