Down the street from my apartment is a bookshop with a bubblegum pink storefront called The Ripped Bodice.

There, they mostly sell romance novels, and the shop reflects a growing trend.

Publishers Weekly reports that in the past three years, 232 physical romance bookshops have opened up, and last year's book sales in the romance category rose about 4% to almost 44 million books.
