The Rescuers

I really don't like the idea of keeping on making sequels of films.

I still find it a really interesting piece of Disney lore that the first film that was ever made as a sequel was The Rescuers Down Under.

Now, don't get me wrong, I quite like The Rescuers, but that does not seem to be the best film In terms of earning money, earning potential, that is surely not the film that you would have picked.

So in terms of other recommendations I would give if you like this one, like I said, Victory Through Airpower at the beginning, it's not a traditional film in the way that you would think.

It's a propaganda film.

I think I'm going to have goofy movie as my third if I have to pick a third.

Apparently we've got to only cover fantasy films over here.

Even though that was, like, way before these, I guess, like, people just went down, went looking for stuff-

... after this, and so they were, like, trying to prove that, oh, the tick ...

We're gonna take down all the Disney movies.

And the only thing they found anything in was in one of the Rescuers movies, there was a, like, a topless woman in a poster behind...

You know, they, like, flip through a, somewhere where one of them lived, and it was like they had posters on the wall, and it was like, "Oh, there's a topless woman." And that one is the only one that was actually real where a animator was just screwing around and, like, threw it in to see if anybody would catch it.

No, it still tastes good.

Okay, so next on my list, I've got Rescuers Down Under.

I think that that is just a forgotten movie.

Yeah, so I would just say it's underrated, and if you guys haven't seen it, if you've not seen Rescuers either, you should watch Rescuers first, and then watch Rescuers down.

Agreed.

And as people who know its history know, it's really three short films strung into one movie.

I don't love The Rescuers.

I don't love The Fox and the Hound.

And thankfully, my wife is not here to hear me say I don't love The Black Cauldron.

It was not just like live action Disney movies that were intense.

I know this was more of a late 70s movie, but the animated movie, The Rescuers, the Disney movie, I mean, that movie featured this woman who kidnapped a little girl and threw her down a mine to get some, I don't know, diamonds or something like that.

I mean, they kidnapped this kid.

It was horrible.
