The U.S. Attorney Bill Asseli and L.A. County D.A. Nathan Hockman criticized what they called a glaring lack of oversight of massive spending on homeless services.

Coming up later this hour, I'll be joined by Jerry Sullivan, national managing editor of The Real Deal, a commercial real estate news source who's been following suspicious real estate deals related to homeless organizations and the city of Los Angeles for years.

The allegation includes misappropriating $7.5 million in taxpayer funds and using the money for commercial real estate and to finance the construction of a nightclub in adjacent Bingo Hall, among other things.

Now that the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority has severed ties with the nonprofit called Home at Last and its founder, We've been taking a look back at some excellent reporting done by Jerry Sullivan, who at the time was with the L.A. Business Journal and also with the Orange County Business Journal, nowadays managing editor of another excellent publication.

But, you know, people in Miami are talking.

There are sources saying that they have, you know, knowledge of the deal and that it's going to happen, some people say, as soon as, you know, by December, which is Moishimana's birthday.

A source close to the deal told The Real Deal that, quote, Storos had a long and productive relationship with the Kushner family, unquote.

And a former cadre employee said Storos and Kushner probably made 100 introductions that gave Williams his early momentum.

Do you smell a rat yet? Because I do.

Though the Mormon Church is mostly known for purchasing land to build its sprawling temples on, it is now starting to get more involved in housing and master-planned communities, putting in some cases decades-old land holdings to work in high-growth areas including Colorado, Florida, and Arizona, said Bloomberg.

The church recently paid $240 million to acquire an apartment complex in Boca Raton, marking one of the priciest multifamily deals in South Florida in 2026, said The Real Deal.

One of these regions in Florida being developed sits on a swath of land almost as large as San Francisco, said Bloomberg.

The project is so massive that Florida created an independent local government, usually first appointed by the landowners, designed to oversee funding of major infrastructure and development.

leaving office, Eric Adams has been busy.

He recently told The Real Deal that he'd be working as a business development consultant for several real estate, related technology companies, selling things like rebar, wellness tech, and fire retardant all over the world.

He told the outlet that he closed 80% of the pitches he's made.

And following a niche that we don't always track quite as closely on The Real Deal, that is the niche of luxury rentals.
