Um, so again, like we've covered before Ma Rainey's Black Bottom.

Um, she did Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, Mr. Popper's Penguins, Julie and Julia, The Reader, Doubt.

Um, she also does a ton of theater.

So she's just an incredibly prolific

It was called The City.

In Chicago, it ran in The Reader for many years.

And that was a lot of fun.

And that was four panels.

Right.

So this ceremony took place on February 22nd, 2009, in the Kodak Theatre, hosted by Hugh Jackman.

Best Picture, as you probably have figured out, went to Slumdog Millionaire, beating out The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Frost/Nixon, Milk, and The Reader.

Best Directing went to Danny Boyle for Slumdog Millionaire, beating out Dave Fincher for Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Ron Howard for Frost/Nixon, Gus Van Sant for Milk, and Stephen Daldry for The Reader.

Best Actor in a Leading Role went to Sean Penn as Harvey Milk in Milk, beating out Richard Jenkins for The Visitor, Frank Langella for Frost/Nixon, Brad Pitt for Curious Case of Benjamin Butler, or Benjamin Button, sorry, and Mickey Rourke for The Wrestler.

Best Actress in a Leading Role went to Kate Winslet for The Reader, beating out Anne Hathaway for Rachel Getting Married, Angelina Jolie for The Changeling, Melissa Leo for Frozen River, and Meryl Streep for Doubt.

Best Actor in a Supporting Role was the posthumous award given to Heath Ledger for his role as the Joker in The Dark Knight, beating out Josh Brolin in Milk, Robert Downey Jr. in Tropic Thunder, Philip Seymour Hoffman in Doubt, and Michael Shannon in Revolutionary Road.

Best Actress in a Supporting Role went to Penélope Cruz as Vicky Cristina Barcelona, or from Vicky Cristina Barcelona as Maria Elena.

She beat out Amy Adams in Doubt, Viola Davis in Doubt, Taraji P. Henson for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, and Marisa Tomei for The Wrestler.
