The Primarchs

All right, we have to explain who Fulgrim is.

In order to explain who Fulgrim is, we need to explain who the Primarchs are.

So, Ross, what are the Warhammer 40k Primarchs?

Okay, to try and do this as concisely as possible, I've boiled it down to two things.

The first thing you need to know, the Primarchs were 20 or 21, depending on who you ask, genetically engineered demigods.

sons of the emperor of mankind and they were created to lead the space ring legions during the great crusade uh which was a effort by the emperor to re reunite all the scattered colonies of mankind into the imperium of man h primark this is the second part each primark embodies a distinct theme and shapes the culture and doctrine of their legion around their own personality and experiences.

Several of these Primarchs, nine specifically, or ten, depending on how you ask, betrayed the Emperor during the Horus Heresy and many of them, including Fulgrim, became demon princes of chaos.

Yes.

This guy can imitate anything in the immaterial universe.

Primarchs, other demons, Xenos, anything.

Just change to be a one-to-one, sounds the same, looks the same, everything.

but tragically it can't remember what it originally looks like and spends a lot of its time trying to recreate its face knowing it's destined to never know kind of reminds me of like gary oldman he did so many accents and like characters over the years he had to go to a speech therapist because he forgot how to speak in his original british accent like he had to go to a person to help because he couldn't remember how to do it but it's like on the extreme um And also, Singe intentionally does know what he looked like and withholds it from him because Singe is a dick.

As he was venturing through the Ruin Storm, he showed him a vision of him like...

Basically, he's killed the war master.

All the traitor Primarchs are, like, shackled with chains, and they're being, like, led to, like, cells by the custodians.

And the emperor's like, you're such a good boy.

And Bran being the man that he is.

Bran the man manages to save his Primarch, save the survivors of the Istvan drop site massacre.

And this is the first time that Korax has ever suffered a defeat.

He's had a clash with Lorgar.

The Warmaster is already swollen with power.

He's massive.

But the trio are interrogating the 20th Primarch, and they're saying, hey, you invoked the Warmaster's name to command elements of the World Eaters, not to pursue the Raven Guard.

What's that about? He didn't give you that order.

I'm Zekhtar, and this week we continue with our Primarch duels.

And today, we'll be discussing the Night of the Wolf.

Russ, but if you know anything about the Night of the Wolf, this is actually a battle between Russ and Angron.

While I was pulling in my research, this battle was just too tempting to pass up, especially because of the two Primarchs.

Now, you may ask, what's so special about this duel? It's just two of the more bloodthirsty and barbaric Primarchs going at it, right? Well, to put it bluntly, both of these two were far more complex at the time, and I couldn't resist just, you know, diving in.

We're not here to debate who's the strongest psychic power of the chaos.

But some of the Primarchs, who are definitely demigods, were in fact psychers.

And one of the strongest one of them is good old Conrad Kurz.

Cool.

yeah um hmm i'm trying to think what would i mean is he is he as is he as is he planetary scale is he demigod scale um you know normally when people talk about the psychers amongst the, um, amongst the Primarchs, you know, we're talking like Magnus, the red and, and, uh, and similar, um, Conrad curse though.

Um, I'm not too certain.

I mean, he's definitely going to kill everyone in the same room as him.

He just copied it when he made you.

Of course, those Primarchs got lost.

Must be painful never knowing your daddies.

Bet they all kind of screws up his lips a little about that.

And as a game master, which I do also run a lot of role-playing games, that is something I've come to Understand very, very well.

Question from Rush says, are there areas of the eye, even Abaddon or a demon Primarch fear to tread? Other than, I'm assuming, the Cadian Gate and all the settlements.

well yeah i mean it's pure psychic energy full of demons and and nonsense and uh you know uh it also like you like you said it's if i were to to to believe that 40k was capable of metaphor and it is The idea of a 20,000, I looked it up, 20,000 light year wide rift, chaos rift, you know, that you can see from, you know, systems away is sort of like if the Milky Way was going to get you and you saw it every day, like, you know, the metaphor being, here's the big bad, just a reminder that, you know, while y'all are playing miniatures and Marines are fighting Eldar and, you know, other things that aren't chaos, that this is the real enemy.

Which is an interesting focus.

I mean, with the newer books and stuff and the Primarch returning, I kind of see more of that.

Did you notice the Eye of Terror and literally all these chaos legions that used to be our friends? that that's the real enemy.
