How exciting.

It's like the movie The Post with Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks.

Is everybody walking around a bit frustrated with heaps of sheets of paper?

Every day.

No, ladies, no.

Do it.

We watch a lot of movies.

Okay.

Ken Clausen was a veteran reporter who was well-sourced inside the federal government.

That morning, one of Clausen's government sources had reached out to him, asking if anyone at the Post had received stolen FBI documents.

If the FBI was asking about them, then clearly the files Betty received were authentic.

I start to confront within myself the significance and the danger involved.

Not yet.

The movie The Post is all about Katherine Graham and her executive editor, Ben Bradley, and their decision to publish a batch of leaked federal documents known as the Pentagon Papers.

But that was all yet to come.

The Big Friendly Giant, I have not.

How about The Post?

The Post is one of my favorite movies, which I know gets some slack, but I'm a newspaper movie person.

I love a movie about newspapers, so Spotlight, All the President's Men, Season 5 of The Wire.

Season 5 of The Wire.

Love it.

Yeah, The Post and Season 5 of The Wire have a lot to do with each other.

This is just such an emotional movie for me, too, when you see how the news used to be conducted and how the news used to be ran and how different it is today.

Okay.

So, 2017, the nominees of the year were Call Me By Your Name, Darkest Hour, Dunkirk, Get Out, Lady Bird, Phantom Thread, The Post, The Shape of Water, and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.

The winner being The Shape of Water.

What was the vibe at the time by the critics? Did they like that The Shape of Water won? It was not their favorite.

So many writer-directors.

It's nominated for four and won one Best Original Screenplay.

And it faces The Post, a drama about the Washington Post's handling of the Pentagon Papers.

It stars Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep, among others.

That boy's Tom on his hands.

Number three is, is maybe a bit more of an acquired taste, The Post.

The Post?

Yeah.

Tom Hanks, Meryl Streep.

He hasn't made a good movie in 20 years.

The Post and Disclosure Day, I'm like, I don't know which one.

The more I think about one of them, it makes me more mad, and I want to put that lower.

I still hate the Fablemans the most, though.

I think that's my least favorite.

Fair enough.

And The Post is a very close second.

Just nothing.

I've seen Catch Me If You Can, maybe once or twice, maybe.

You mean you have not seen The Post with Meryl Streep? I have not seen The Post, no.

I mean, name some other ones.

I'm not even 100% sure what he's put out.

Really great, and honestly it's, if, yeah, I did a movie, uh, I'll brag a little.

I did a s- a Steven Spielberg movie called The Post, and he came to set, and he'd be looking around, and he, he was very happy to talk to us all about his process and things.

And o- on bragging, nearly bragging about how he didn't do storyboards ever.
