The one work

So I had an extraordinary year exploring these countries and also coming in contact with Hinduism and Buddhism and Daoism.

I finally wrote a book called The One Work.

That was the first book I wrote when I was about 28 or 29.

And just after that, I got married.

But I also want people who have spent decades studying what we are only just now starting to learn.

If younger generations are going to start working with these traditions, I want us to know who came before us and understand the books that were written before these ideas became online language and hear from the people who are still here to tell us what they learned.

Near the end of this interview, I ask Anne whether getting older has changed what she thinks God is.

And her answer is one of my favorite parts of this conversation.

gathered artifacts from the different countries, and they went from Italy in the west to the far end of Ukraine in the east.

It included Ukraine and included Greece and Crete and Romania and Bulgaria and, as I say, Ukraine, all of that, not Russia.

And then this civilization, which she called the civilization of the goddess, and she wrote two huge books, one called The Civilization of the Goddess and one called The Language of the Goddess, in which she brought all these beautiful little artifacts of figurines of the goddess in different poses and different variations, so to speak.

There was one goddess for death, which looked very sort of severe, which is in the museum in Athens, the most beautiful examples of that.
