It was with Riz Ahmed, John Turturro.

It came out 10 years ago.

James Gandolfini has producing credit on the show.

He was supposed to be John Turturro's character.

Do you guys consider yourselves John Turturro fans? Of course.

absolutely i thought that you know i i consider myself like one of the biggest fans but i haven't seen like a huge uh film a huge project he was involved in that people can't stop talking about the night of on hbo it's been on my list

for like 10 years or so because it's like six episodes of like ah i gotta invest that time yeah it's good right i'm sure it's got rave reviews yeah It's

so fucking amazing.

Because after watching this, I was like, no, no, no.

This is not smart enough for me.

I love miniseries like, well, more recently, things like Chernobyl or The Night Of.

Going back to when I was a teenager growing up, Band of Brothers was coming out.

That was a huge, huge deal, of course.

I watched this cool miniseries, eight episode miniseries.

It's called The Night Of.

It came out in 2016 and I haven't heard of it, but when I saw it, I was thinking, damn, this is really good.

It's a crime drama.

No one's safe.

But that's me, man.

It's on HBO Max.

The Night Of, what is it

about? Killing.

Killing.

Ahmed has said the show is about family, ambition, and the hunger to belong, and what it costs someone when they finally get close to the thing they've been chasing their whole life.

Riz Ahmed is already an Emmy Award winner for his work in "The Night Of," an HBO crime drama in which he plays a college student whose life shatters after being accused of murder in New York City.

In "Sound of Metal," he played a punk drummer grappling with sudden hearing loss, and he was nominated for an Oscar for that film.

And for "The Long Goodbye," which is about a British Pakistani family whose ordinary Sunday is shattered by a far-right militia, he won the Oscar for Best Short Film.

It's never just an audition when you're a Brown actor, is it?

Yeah, I mean, uh, so much of the show is taken from my own experience, you know.

I remember waking up in the middle of the night two years after I wrapped on the night of and going to the mirror and redoing scenes that the whole world had already seen.

They made one of my favorite TV shows of all time, The Night Of.

Richard Price obviously, uh, has been a guest on this show, as has Steve Zaillian.

Lush Life, one of my favorite books.

He's also the screenwriter behind Color of Money and Sea of Love and, and many other screenplays.

They collaborated years ago with HBO on, um, on The Night Of with Riz Ahmed and John Turturro, and now are reuniting to adapt a nonfiction book from 2015 called Ghettoside.

Mm-hmm.

He's a local big shot in this Nebraska community with a ranch that appears to be preparing for something bad.

He's married to Poor Night Jag and Nathan from Never Have I Ever and The Night Of.

And then apparently we're told Nathan Fillion will be back as Guy Gardner.

He was the Green Lantern in the Superman movie last year.
