The Net

95 is a weird year for these, like, technology thrillers.

You had The Net, you had Hackers, you had Johnny Mnemonic, you had Strange Days, and then you had this movie all in the same year.

I feel like the 90s, especially mid-90s, there was a real palpable anxiety around technology, around computers, around what the future was going to look like.

It just felt like that was a big focus on...

Hackers is another good example.

The Net.

The Net, where Sandra Bullock says she needs to get a modem instead of a modem.

The, okay, the premise of this movie y'all and Emma is that an actual like Muslim extremist organization takes over a pro-Palestinian encampment at a college and implements Sharia law or their own caliphate.

Uh, make it secure that they can connect from anywhere, right? So whether they're working from an airport, traveling to a conference, like Cisco Live, uh, working in a coffee shop, or working from their home, or if they go in once a week to the office, right? Having that seamless experience.
