SkylerPANELIST
94:03
Can you tell me some early expectations or things you would like to see in this adaptation that maybe like, you think are like the bare minimum they need to hit?
DarrenHOST
67:20
Yeah, there's a lot of positive things to that film.
DarrenHOST
67:22
And another one that's not on your list, but I think is just a real proper horror movie for horror fans is Le Cronin's The Mummy.
DarrenHOST
67:32
Oh, yeah.
DarrenHOST
67:33
I have not seen that yet.
VictorHOST
67:35
I so deeply disliked his Evil Dead film, except for the opening sequence of the Evil Dead film, the one he did, the previous one.
VictorHOST
67:44
I've not seen this recent one either, but the previous one, I so disliked Evil Dead Rise, that one.
VictorHOST
67:50
I disliked it so much that I had no interest in seeing The Mummy, but I've heard good things about it, so maybe I'll have to give it a chance.
DarrenHOST
67:59
Interesting.
Ole Jordan HartmannGUEST
41:05
So probably ScentHelp was one because of that experience with my son.
Ole Jordan HartmannGUEST
41:10
But as far as if I'm thinking about anything else I loved I saw trying to think about my first horror movie that I saw I loved I actually really liked The Mummy Lee Cronin's The Mummy I just loved the random gross stuff that came out of nowhere yeah
AllisonHOST
41:29
gross
Ole Jordan HartmannGUEST
41:30
like I love that and that was probably and these are all recent like from this year I've seen horror movies in the theater for ever since I was maybe 13 or 14 but nothing ever really saw it get out in theaters which is fantastic to see in theaters but that movie's so good the theater experience wasn't different than the at home experience no matter where I watch that movie I'm sucked into it it didn't you know It didn't need to be in a theater for me to be into it.
Ole Jordan HartmannGUEST
42:02
I love that movie.
Ole Jordan HartmannGUEST
42:04
In a theater or out of a theater.
Ole Jordan HartmannGUEST
42:06
But as far as in a theater, The Mummy was just so much fun.
Ole Jordan HartmannGUEST
42:10
Random gross stuff.

So we caught this, it was playing on HBO, and we're going to pair this with Exorcist 2, which is kind of an interesting parallel because this is a
Daniel KrausGUEST
44:00
Yeah, it's pretty new.
Daniel KrausGUEST
44:01
It's a horror movie told entirely through commercials of two competing characters restaurants yeah i mean to say the least it's not for everyone but i thought it was uh tremendous and i also finally finally caught up with lee cronin's the mummy which um also not for everyone but like uh really impressively nasty uh yeah i would have put money on you liking that Yeah, and then I saw Wellfall three times.
Brian DuffieldGUEST
44:33

And these are all available either on Canopy, which is free with a library card, or I'll tell you where they're at.
RegGUEST
35:12
My first one is one from actually this year called Lee Cronin's The Mummy.
RegGUEST
35:18
So this is a new take on The Mummy.
RegGUEST
35:19
Lee Cronin did Evil Dead Rise, which was the second-to-last Evil Dead movie that came out.
RegGUEST
35:25
Pretty brutal stuff, and he makes brutal movies.
RegGUEST
35:53
You got that one.
RegGUEST
35:54
Lee
Chris OldachHOST
35:54
Cronin's the mummy.
NezHOST
6:09
He's got the makeup.
NezHOST
6:13
If you watched all those movies back to back, Freddie's makeup did not match how it looked in the previous film.
NezHOST
6:21
In my opinion, it went from low-budget Wes Craven from the first film Freddy's or Return of Freddy or whatever the second one was called.
NezHOST
6:35
And then Dream Warriors and then whatever else came out after that.
NezHOST
8:08
Not a lot.
BrianHOST
8:09
Yeah, but I can imagine if he actually got the role.
BrianHOST
8:13
Because there's... two movies in the works two nightmare on elm street movies if he got hired at one of them and they put the budget towards makeup
NezHOST
8:25
oh yeah it'll look i
JillHOST
26:54
And then our next category is best makeup effects.
JillHOST
26:59
My predicted winner was origin to attend with Lee Cronin's the mummy.
JillHOST
27:05
Um, and I've since started that movie and, uh, I I've seen some of the makeup effects that my heart, I don't know what fucking possessed me to choose this.
JillHOST
27:16
Um, but a bigger question for you in a second, but, um, My heart was Chris Gallagher, Nadia Stacey, and Scott Stoddard with The Bride.
JillHOST
27:26
I don't know why I wanted that to win.
JillHOST
27:27
I'm changing that.
JillHOST
27:30
The makeup and everything looked good, but I still think what they did with The Mummy... is probably more sophisticated and just looks better and it looks like Evil Dead and I love Evil Dead I'm not mad about an Evil Dead meets the mummy sort of situation I haven't finished it yet but But I'm going to change my heart to the mummy as well.
JillHOST
27:56
So that's my predicted winner and my heart.
Corey DirrigHOST
66:07
Hold on to your butts, as they say.
Corey DirrigHOST
66:09
By the way, speaking of holding on to your butts, did you see that The Mummy finally has a title? The movie? The new movie? No.
Corey DirrigHOST

Book of the Dead.
