Then he got asked to do a movie where he would be playing an Australian rock musician over the course of his life named Chris Gaines.

And he made a concept album for it.

It was The Life of Chris Gaines, which was basically music throughout this person's career.

They were going to release the album and then do the movie.

Well, the movie fell through for financial reasons, so he released this album.

And surprise, surprise, his country audience was not really big into a collection of rock, pop, and R&B that this album had.

And so it sold pretty well, but not well for a Garth Brooks record at the time, and it kind of torpedoed his career a little bit.

And as is the case with Garth Brooks songs, so many of these things are hard to find, and that album has never been reissued.
