I'm not sure about the mask, but I think he made no money on Dumb and Dumber, and it was kind of unknown.

and it got panned by critics and then audiences saw it and enjoyed it and watched it and then that then led to success of Dumb and Dumber and The Mask or they made more money than they would have because like oh the guy from Ace Ventura is in it cool done sold

I'm tired yeah so am I I'm just trying like I do think I'm now like I was looking at the list of movies that came out in like some of the years and it is a hard year to pick what the best year was I don't know why I keep thinking Goodfellas and Heat both came out in 1995 when it was just Heat I think Casino Casino that's why Casino came out in 1995 while Goodfellas was 1990 but the fact that like you know those two Scorsese films one decade is pretty nice i'm pretty sure that's when he started working no dicaprio wasn't old enough in the 90s to be i'm trying to go there's coursework score says he did more than just those two in the 90s

He looks like the villain in the mask at the end when he puts the mask on, but like super enhanced because of the jaw.

I know a lot of people do, and to each their own, if that's your kind of comedy and you like it, fair enough.

But I've never been a fan of Ace Ventura, The Mask, all that kind of stuff.

And yet, I think Jim Carrey is a fantastic actor.

Man on the Moon and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind are two of my favourite movies, with two of my, I think, strongest performances.

It actually dealt with Batman rather than simply making him a supporting player in a villain showcase.

It had cool action, it was fun, and even now I maintain that it captures the feel of the average Batman comic book better than Burton's films.

it's also likely to be the only robin origin we get on the big screen since everyone seems to hate that character and i think it nails that aspect too but if you'll indulge my analogy there were times especially in the first 30 minutes or so when it felt like that cliche of reconnecting with an old lover and suddenly seeing the flaws you were always told about but didn't seem to notice there's some painful setup the cheese factor is off the charts and the introduction of the romance plot is daytime soap opera level likewise the villains a strength of burton's films are just terrible Carey can be a good actor, but here we're in the height of Ace Ventura, the masked Carey, and it's honestly exhausting.

It's a complete tonal misstep.
