When I saw her passing by, my heart fell to the ground and my jaws just dropped.
Mar Mari EmmanuelHOST
83:12
And I looked like that guy on that movie called The Mask with the jaw going down, down to the ground, brother.
Mar Mari EmmanuelHOST
83:23
So she took me away.
Mar Mari EmmanuelHOST
83:28
So I married her because she is beautiful.
Dáire WalshHOST
31:15
I think he made money on Ace Ventura.
Dáire WalshHOST
31:19
I'm not sure about the mask, but I think he made no money on Dumb and Dumber, and it was kind of unknown.
Dáire WalshHOST
31:24
It's weird to know this poster.
Dáire WalshHOST
31:27
No, it was the other way around.
Dáire WalshHOST
31:28
Ace Ventura is the one that blew up.
Dáire WalshHOST
31:33
Yeah, I think that's the one that blew up, and I think that one came out first, because I think there's an interview of him saying he thought it was a good movie, he did it, and all that.
Dáire WalshHOST
31:46
and it got panned by critics and then audiences saw it and enjoyed it and watched it and then that then led to success of Dumb and Dumber and The Mask or they made more money than they would have because like oh the guy from Ace Ventura is in it cool done sold

I'm tired yeah so am I I'm just trying like I do think I'm now like I was looking at the list of movies that came out in like some of the years and it is a hard year to pick what the best year was I don't know why I keep thinking Goodfellas and Heat both came out in 1995 when it was just Heat I think Casino Casino that's why Casino came out in 1995 while Goodfellas was 1990 but the fact that like you know those two Scorsese films one decade is pretty nice i'm pretty sure that's when he started working no dicaprio wasn't old enough in the 90s to be i'm trying to go there's coursework score says he did more than just those two in the 90s
RichGUEST

Because again, we've seen him grow up, we've watched him growing up.
BrentHOST
38:04
Who's the guy from The Mask?
RichGUEST
38:05
The Mask? Oh, Jim Carrey.
BrentHOST
38:07
I imagine he's like that also.
BrentHOST
38:09
Like, he could just be talking normal and then he'd put a character on
Dave HunterHOST
25:09
Was
Chuck the FreakHOST
25:10

RyanPANELIST
25:15
It's like in the movie The Mask when the bad guy gets the mask.
RyanPANELIST
25:18
Yes.
RyanPANELIST
25:19
That's what it is.
JoeHOST
62:07
Ghostbusters movie
SteveHOST
62:09

ToddHOST
62:24

SteveHOST
62:28

James Cullen BressackHOST
8:03
like me, when she got her Oscar, she didn't say that.
James Cullen BressackHOST
8:06
But Jim Carrey doing an impression of her in The Mask, he says that.
James Cullen BressackHOST
8:11
In Ace Ventura, Jim Carrey points to a guy who is bald with a monocle and a mustache, and he goes, the Monopoly man.
James Cullen BressackHOST
8:20
The Monopoly man never had a monocle.
Paige WesleyHOST
53:25
Yeah, this is a pretty normal trope.
Paige WesleyHOST
53:27
This also exists in, like, The Mask and a few other things where it's like-
ErinGUEST
53:30
Yeah
Paige WesleyHOST
53:30
... you know.
James RapienHOST
62:10
Jacob hasn't seen it because he's too young.
James RapienHOST
62:13
This came out in 94, but Jim carries the mask at the end when he puts the mask on.
James RapienHOST
62:17
Have you seen it? In what world would I have not seen the mask?
Marisa ContipelliHOST
62:21
All right.
Marisa ContipelliHOST
62:22
This is just insane.
Marisa ContipelliHOST
62:23
First
James RapienHOST
62:24
word crew coming up big today.
James RapienHOST
62:26
He looks like the villain in the mask at the end when he puts the mask on, but like super enhanced because of the jaw.
Michael WilsonHOST
60:31
I know a lot of people do, and to each their own, if that's your kind of comedy and you like it, fair enough.
Michael WilsonHOST
60:35
But I've never been a fan of Ace Ventura, The Mask, all that kind of stuff.
Michael WilsonHOST
60:38
And yet, I think Jim Carrey is a fantastic actor.
Michael WilsonHOST
60:41
Man on the Moon and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind are two of my favourite movies, with two of my, I think, strongest performances.

Michael WilsonHOST

It actually dealt with Batman rather than simply making him a supporting player in a villain showcase.
Michael WilsonHOST
107:20
It had cool action, it was fun, and even now I maintain that it captures the feel of the average Batman comic book better than Burton's films.
Michael WilsonHOST
107:27
it's also likely to be the only robin origin we get on the big screen since everyone seems to hate that character and i think it nails that aspect too but if you'll indulge my analogy there were times especially in the first 30 minutes or so when it felt like that cliche of reconnecting with an old lover and suddenly seeing the flaws you were always told about but didn't seem to notice there's some painful setup the cheese factor is off the charts and the introduction of the romance plot is daytime soap opera level likewise the villains a strength of burton's films are just terrible Carey can be a good actor, but here we're in the height of Ace Ventura, the masked Carey, and it's honestly exhausting.
Michael WilsonHOST
108:00
It's a complete tonal misstep.
ColtonHOST
105:18
Dude, for sure.
AdrianHOST
105:20
Shout out to The Mask.
AdrianHOST
105:22
Shout out.
AdrianHOST
105:22
I've been seeing some behind the scenes, and dude, he was doing more work than he needed to for that movie.
