The Mall at Sierra Vista

Sierra Vista Community Theater is preparing for a Halloween season production that's equal parts mad science, musical comedy, and monster-sized entertainment.

As Herald Review Managing Editor Matt Hickman reports, Young Frankenstein opens Friday, October 16th at the Mall at Sierra Vista, promising audiences plenty of laughs and some surprisingly impressive dance moves.

The production is based on Mel Brooks' beloved 1974 film and follows Dr. Frederick Frankenstein, played by David Talbot, a scientist who would rather forget his family's notorious history of bringing the dead back to life.

And just to be clear, he insists his name is pronounced Frankenstein.

Talbot also performed in the theater's production of another Mel Brooks musical, The Producers, earlier this year.

Both performers say their biggest hope is that audiences will come ready to laugh, relax, and forget about the pressures of everyday life for a couple of hours.

Young Frankenstein runs from October 16th through November 1st at the theater inside the mall at Sierra Vista.

Tickets cost $23 for adults and $20 for children.
