When it premiered in December of 1975, it was only the second primetime sitcom to feature a divorced mother as the lead character following The Lucy Show, which was, of course, Lucille Ball, who could do whatever she wanted, and was basically creating shows that sort of mirrored her life, whether it was having a baby or getting a divorce.

So I think it was mirroring what was happening in both the women's movement, but also the fact that women were not only getting divorced and moving on with their lives, but they were moving into the workforce.

Um, it says that during its original run, I Love Lucy was nominated for a total of 20 Emmy Awards, winning two Emmys for Best Situation Comedy Series, with Arnaz accepting the honors as executive producer.

Ball won two Emmy Awards for Best Actress in a Comedy Series for the show, and two Emmys in the late 1960s for her work on The Lucy Show.

Ball was inducted into the Television Academy Hall of Fame in 1984 and received the Governors Award in 1989.

Bullet point number two: When Vivian Vance left The Lucy Show in 1965, Joan Blondell was one of the actresses brought in to do a couple of episodes with Lucille Ball to test their chemistry.

They had gotten along very well in their earlier Hollywood years in the 1930s and '40s, but Lucy was the big boss now, and she'd grown a much tougher skin.

According to Joan, Lucy was not kind to her and threw insult after insult at her as they played out their lines.

Now Lee Miller... was first seen as the announcer in The Quiz Show, Season 1, Episode 5, and then played the photographer in Changing the Boy's Wardrobe, Season 3, Episode 10.

He goes on to play Chick Jackson, host of the MCM Executive Show, introducing Lucy and the Dummies, Season 5, Episode 3, as well as appearing on the 1964 episode of The Lucy Show, which we'll find out what episode that is and don't say here.

Milton Fromm returned to work with Lucy in the 1965 episode of The Lucy Show starring Milton Berle, as well as the 1972 episode of Here's Lucy starring Donny Osmond, in which he plays Henry the waiter, not to be confused with the nearsighted character of the same name played by Frank Nelson.
