William, is there something you've been enjoying this week that you want to recommend to the world?

There is, and I'm going all the way back to 1984 for the autobiographical novel The Lover.

It's by the French writer Marguerite Duras, and it's set in French colonial Vietnam.

It follows a teenage girl who begins a relationship with an older Chinese man.

You're with The Art Seller and I'm Nikki Bady.

I have really enjoyed Rebecca F. Kuang's book.

She's the Chinese-American novelist and wunderkind behind the international bestsellers Babel and Yellowface.

Her latest novel, Taipei Story, has been described by Vogue magazine as her most personal yet.

Yeah, I think I probably would say that Marguerite Duras is my favorite author.

And she can also, I mean, The Lover is, of course, one of the books that have meant a lot to me.

And in the writing process itself, I also read a lot of other writers who dealt with the same theme.

And Marguerite Duras, The Lover, is of course, you know, a sister story in a way.
