The Long Shadow

So where was I? So the next one we're talking about is War, which is an eight-part Sky original drama from George Kay, who previously made Lupin and Criminal and the Apple TV Plus thriller Hijack that had Idris Elba in it.

And also ITV's The Long Shadow.

This one is set inside two of London's most prestigious law firms during an explosive and headline-grabbing divorce.

Here's Sienna Miller and Dominic West in the trailer, setting the stage for the courtroom battles to come.

But I am interested.

It's kind of unapologetically soapy because normally legal dramas can end up getting so bogged down in... legal language and bland offices that you don't really find the, you don't really get that much of a psychological warfare that, that plays out between two sides.

And I think what George K who has done a amazing set of shows, um, before including my mad fat diary, the long shadow live in Yanko, he, he basically makes sure that this never, um, loses its focus on the falling out, a massive falling out between two former lovers, a, uh, tech titan and a movie star who basically go to whatever means necessary and it starts with a ridiculous um honey trap situation but you know they are really trying to make the other one have as miserable a time as possible And I enjoyed that.

I also enjoyed the cast, the people who pop up.

This is a strange one, only because it's written by one of our favourite writers, George Kay, who has recently brought us Hijack, the first series, not the second, which is why I think the second was worse.

The retelling of the Yorkshire Ripper in The Long Shadow.

He has form in writing shows like in different languages, set in other places, mostly Lupin, the French sort of spy fun show that Matt championed a long, long time ago when that debuted on Netflix.

This is set in Sweden.
