Our general impressions, will they vindicate me or prove me wrong?

Well, I know for myself, The Light Fantastic is better than The Color of Magic.

I enjoy it more.

I feel like it might be right from the very beginning, the whole, the initial descriptions of Ankh-Morpork.

Am I right in The Colour of Magic or maybe Light Fantastic where I talk about Ankh-Morporkians not being particularly religious people? You know, they're just, the gods are.

Yeah.

I mean, because the gods are such a huge part of the story in Colour of Magic because they're playing dice.

It's this idea we've talked about a lot with parody, the idea of the bucket.

If the bucket is the right shape, you can put whatever you want in it.

So Color of Magic and Light Fantastic are shaped like schlocky 70s fantasy.

And the readers originally, when those books came out, were reading that and going, I know that.
