The Librarians

for Melbourne Theatre Company, and it just stopped for Belvoir Street, as well as Sylvia Metamorphosis and the Caucasian Chalk Circle for Sydney Theatre Company.

On television, Kim has constantly proven his versatility from programs such as Underbelly, The Games, Burner, Full Frontal, The Librarians, Very Small Business, Wilfred, and Lowdown 2. to his most recent appearances in No Activity, Top of the Lake Series 2, which I very much enjoyed, Sunshine, and Back in Very Small Business, Love Me Too, Black Snow, and of course, the artful Dodger.

His most recent film credits include The Little Death, Bleeding Steel, Sibling Rivalry, and How to Make Gravy.

Welcome, Kim, to the show.

Uh, I'm a big fan of Lindy Booth.

I'm a sucker for, um, [smacks lips] the Librarians TV show with Noah Wyle.

I loved that show, yeah.

It's really, really good, and I'm not-

...

I just, I think, I think those kinds of things are so cute.

Uh, and Lindy Booth is adorable on, um, [smacks lips] uh, Librarians, and so her playing, like, the mean girl in Cry Wolf-

Yeah

This is a fun one.

Let's talk about The Librarians.

This show ran from 2014 to 2018, and it boasts a very impressive 79% on Rotten Tomatoes.

This is a masterclass in tonal shifting.

Oh, that makes so much sense.

By placing the myth in a playful modern-day context, the creators actively disarmed the audience's internal fact checker.

Because you aren't watching The Librarians to critique the geopolitical realism of post-Roman Britain.

You are watching it to see fun characters solve magical puzzles.

Mm-hmm.

On top of that, um, the actress from The Librarians who played Cassandra Cillian, [laughs] who played the girlfriend-ish person, uh-

I love how you're making all these connections.

[laughs]

Mm-hmm.

And, and currently I'm actually a h- I'm a huge Dean Devlin bent, where Librarians and Librarians The Next Chapter, I, that's one of the shows I'm reviewing right now.

So I'm going back and watching The Librarians from the beginning.

Mm.

There's several TV shows that I'm going to highlight.

It's a series that makes the library an adventurous headquarters.

Books become gateways to mysteries, mythology, and extraordinary worlds.

Cruel.

What did you play on The Librarians? I must have missed you there of all the years I did that show with them.

I played, uh, the kind of anti-Santa Claus.

Uh, I w-

I mean, favourite of my own that, you know, I made, there are a number.

I did a beautiful rapier for the show The Librarians.

It was a

gorgeous

Right.

I'm thinking to the librarians.

Very fun show.

If anybody hasn't watched it, absolutely marvelous.
