The Lathe of Heaven

... mega hit.

Lathe of Heaven was the, was the Ursula K. Le- Le Guin book that really stuck out to me about the, the guy that dreamed his own reality.

I did wanna just give a shout-out to Michael Flynn.

Um, uh, this is Firestar, but he has a whole Falling Skies series about, uh, near-Earth...

I just read this in my book club.

It was The Lathe of Heaven.

And And it's a shorter book of hers.

And the premise is about a – it's basically about a man who – When he dreams, he thinks he changes the world with his dreams.

Everyone is a universal, standard human unit.

We're basically grey goo people from Ursula Le Guin's Lathe of Heaven.

And as Mary quoted Horace in her book Feminism Against Progress about gender, you can drive nature out with a pitchfork, but she'll come back.

The same thing holds true with race, ethnicity, identity, and nationality.

Le Guin his favorite writer and The Dispossessed his favorite novel.

He first encountered Ursula's work in college when a friend gave him a copy of The Lathe of Heaven, the book that turned him toward reading, and eventually writing, science fiction and fantasy.

Cadwell has said of Ursula's work, "No writer has had a more profound impact on my writing and my mission as a writer." Cadwell Turnbull recorded this reading on July tenth, two thousand and twenty-five.

My name is Cadwell Turnbull, and I'm reading post twenty-three, "The Middle of What?" from May twenty-fifth, twenty-eleven.

I am reading this post during the ICE raids, during the what some people have been calling riots in LA.

I found Le Guin's work when I was in college.

One of my good friends, an anarchist, suggested that I should read first The Lathe of Heaven, and then if I liked it, I should check out The Dispossessed.

I read The Lathe of Heaven, and I loved it so much, I immediately read The Dispossessed, and then The Left Hand of Darkness, and then Earthsea, and then many of her short stories.
