The King's School Canterbury

His earliest memory of the game is as a tiny boy, bat in hand, with his father at the other end.

From there came King's School, Canterbury, Leicestershire, England, eight thousand two hundred and thirty-one test runs, 18 test centuries, an Ashes winning England captaincy, and one of the most apparently effortless batting styles the game has ever seen.

Although anyone who's ever attempted to imitate his cover drive will know that effortless was very much his department rather than ours.

And to say that Bob is something of a huge fan is today's understatement.
