Before we would get done with one tour, the managers and our booking agent would call and be like, yo, check this out.

The Ataris put out Blue Skies Broken Hearts..., Next 12 Exits.

Juliana Theory put out Understand This Is a Dream, as well as a split with Dawson High, who, uh, is a band that only ever put out the Juliana Theory split, I think.

What's the other one that's like that? Is it Recess Theory, another one that did a split with Juliana Theory but has, like, nothing else of their own?

Yeah.

[laughs] And Piebald put out If It Weren't for Venetian Blinds It Would Be Curtains for Us All, kind of early in the Piebald second album.

And on the show this week, we have Joshua Fiedler, guitarist of The Juliana Theory, and the mastermind behind Low Rev, his new solo project, who just released an excellent new LP on Equal Vision Records called It's Hard to Lie to Strangers.

We talked to Josh about his early days growing up in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, and forming The Juliana Theory, the emo rock band that got started in the late '90s and released two LPs, Understand This is a Dream and Emotion Is Dead, before grabbing the attention of Epic Records and releasing their 2002 LP, Love.

Unfortunately, in a tale all too common from these days, their A&R rep was let go from Epic Records, and the label stopped supporting the record and the band, so they got out of their contract and released one more LP, Deadbeat Sweet Heartbeat, before disbanding in 2006.

But thankfully, the story did not end there.

The Juliana Theory reunited in 2010 and again in 2017 and have been back steadily since 2020.

They've released some great new music since then, and they've got a new LP in the works right now.

We cover all of this and more in this excellent conversation with Josh, and that is coming up shortly.

Um, so, uh, that summer we do the States.

But we, we're, we're playing shows with less, you know, like previously, like we're playing, um, with bands like The Juliana Theory, uh, As Friends Rust-

I guess I would go with... 'Cause I mean, a lot of the bands are still doing it and are still here, you know, that I, like, grew up as a part of.

Um, I'd go with, like, um, you know, Saves the Day, uh, Further Seems Forever, um, The Juliana Theory.

Um, a lot of bands that, like, when I was in high school got me into this kinda music that...

I mean, I guess Saves the Day is still, still doing it, you know, but a lot of, a lot of those bands that aren't really necessarily, you know, Northstar.
