The Irresistible Revolution

That's Matthew 25 verses 34 to 36 from the NIV.

Shane Claiborne is a Christian activist, the author of a book called The Irresistible Revolution, and the co-founder of the Simple Way Community.

He points to this passage when he talks about what inspires him to help change the world.

I remember interviewing him on the radio a few years ago, and he said if we want to care about what God cares about, Matthew 25 is a good place to start.

I stopped pledging allegiance to the flag, I think I was 17 or 18, because I read books in evangelicalism.

I read a book by Shane Claiborne, who obviously is much more progressive, but called Irresistible Revolution.

There was a song by worship leader Misty Edwards that said, I pledge my allegiance to the Lamb, right? I took that seriously.

I said, you know what? Yeah, I don't want to pledge my allegiance to anything but to the way of Jesus.
