The Iron Giant

And then it's one of my favorite movies.

Iron Giant comes back to haunt me.

Yeah.

Yeah.

It stays PG-13 for sure, but it's a surprising tone given the medium, and I appreciate the willingness to test the boundaries of that.

The trailer I saw for this... had a hauntingly sad song playing under it, and it focused mostly on the tragic loss of Alexandra, and made me think I might, like, ugly cry watching this more than any animated movie since The Iron Giant.

But that did not happen.

I like Prue.

I mean, you've got the guy who made The Iron Giant, The Incredibles, Ratatouille back in this format.

It follows the last human private detective in a futuristic world with aliens.

So count me in for that storyline.

which is an interesting balance to strike.

And most enjoyably, if you remove the sheer surplus of bloodshed and bodily dismemberment, you essentially have the Iron Giant.

So in case you wish that the Iron Giant was in kill mode the entire movie, Psycho Goreman is the movie for you.

You know, Brad Bird, of course, known for The Incredibles.

That's, you know, the Iron Giant.

Some really tremendous animated films.

He's also done some live action stuff.

I think his strongest work has been in animation and Ray Gunn has been a film that's been with him really since before the Iron Giant.

This is something that he's wanted to make.

And I think he's had trouble with it because it isn't necessarily, and there's another movie out right now called Wildwood that sort of reminds me, it's like almost like elevated animation.
